"Fire Light Pavilon"
To Pay Tribute to Fred McChesney
May 26, 2009 -- Family and friends of the late Louis "Fred" McChesney have committed to provide funding for the "Fire Light Pavilon at Seven Mountains Scout Camp, Scourt Execiutive Jim Kennedy has annouced today.
Fire Light Pavilon will be located at the current site of the Cub Scout Pavilon across from the Don Bailey Campfire Circle and is expected to be completed in the fall 2009.
Fred McChesney was involved as a leader with Cub Scout Pack 31, Chartered to the Mens Brotherhood Class at St Pauls United Methodist Church in State College. More

Don Bailey Campfire Circle In Style
Over 170 Cub Scouts along with their parents, leaders, Juniata Valley Council Executive Board Members, camp and council office staff led multiple standing ovations, gave hugs, and thanked Mrs. Donald (Doreen) Bailey for the campfire renovations Friday June 26 at the Opening Campfire in the newly renvated Don Bailey Campfire Circle at Seven Mountains Scout Camp, which was done in tribute to her late husband Don. JVC BSA / Centre United Way / State College Spikes announce Scout Day at the Spikes -- The Annual Scout Night at the State College Spikes game will be held on Friday, August 21 at Medler Field as part of the Centre County United Way Partner Series. It was also announced that the evening will include a Food Drive for the State College Area Food Bank. Scouts annuall collect over 125,000 non-perishable food items for local food banks in the November "Scouting for Food Campaign". More details

NEW HEALTH FORM - The Boy Scouts of America announce a new Annual Health and Medical Form, which replaces former Class 1, 2, and 3 forms, which will be phased out in 2009. The use of the new form, No. 34605, will be required effective January 1, 2010, as well as for the 2010 National Scout Jamboree.
